At the vicinity of Physis Villas is the artificially created lake of Aghia, a protected wetland site included in the Natura 2000 network. The lake is home to a great variety of aquatic plants (like rare species of fern) and animal life e.g. frogs etc. The lake gives shelter to migratory bird populations during their journey from the north to the south and vice versa. Park and ride schemes, cycling and pedestrian facilities around the lake allow the visitor to enjoy the plane trees, the spring water, and the birdwatching.
